Michael Mulligan, M.D., is a board certified surgeon at UW Medical Center, director of the UW's Lung Transplant, Advanced Lung Disease Surgery and Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Programs and the UW Medicine Distinguished Endowed Professor of Lung Transplant and Surgery and a UW professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Mulligan strives to do his best for every patient. He believes in treating patients like he would treat members of his own family.
Dr. Mulligan earned his M.D. at the University of Connecticut. He is board certified in both Thoracic Surgery and Surgery. He is the only surgeon in the Pacific Northwest who performs pulmonary endarterectomies and a national expert in video-assisted thoracic surgery. He runs an NIH-funded laboratory. He has received the John K. Stevenson Award for excellence in resident education as well as the McGoon Award for outstanding teaching.
